Smart goal 4
INVESTIGATIVE ABILITY
Shows that you can do research. Start with a research question/problem (I want to gain more knowledge of the numbers in the Live Music market,I want to research jobs in the industry, etc.), then find the right research methods to go with it (desk research, field research, interviews, surveys, etc.) and start doing research, lastly review the results and come up with conclusions.
SMART Goal 4: Analyzing Event Preferences
I intend to explore the types of events preferred (in Limburg) in order to better understand current audience interests and emerging trends within the events sector. This investigation is designed to inform future event planning. I plan to gather insights by engaging with 30 individuals through structured interviews or surveys. The end of this project will be the completion and publication of a data analysis report by June 10th. This goal will contribute to the development of my investigative ability by enhancing my skills in formulating research questions, selecting appropriate data collection methods, interpreting findings, and drawing conclusions based on evidence.
S – Specific
The objective is to identify the types of events that are most appealing to individuals residing in the province of Limburg. This focus reflects both personal and professional relevance, as I live in the area and aim to work in its event industry. The goal clearly targets local preferences, ensuring the investigation remains focused and relevant to the context in which I intend to apply the findings.
M – Measurable
The investigation will involve a sample size of 30 participants, whose input will be collected via surveys. The findings will be put into a structured data analysis report, containing quantitative and qualitative summaries. The production of this report serves as a concrete indicator of the goals completion.
A – Achievable
Given the manageable sample size, the accessibility of survey tools, and the availability of potential participants within the community, this goal is realistic and attainable. I possess the necessary skills in data collection and analysis, making it feasible to complete the research within the designated timeframe.
R – Relevant
This goal is directly aligned with the development of my investigative ability. It requires me to identify a research problem, design and implement a methodology, analyze results critically, and extract meaningful conclusions all key components of investigative work. Additionally, it supports my career aspirations in the local events sector by grounding my knowledge in real world data.
T – Time-bound
A firm deadline has been established: the final research report will be completed and submitted by June 10th. The timeline allows for research phase, planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting to be executed in an organized and timely manner.
